P.S.4 Smith reports the William and Mary Beer Shop was open at ¼ to 1 A.M. on the night of the 5th and 2 persons drinking therein.

Inspr Green Reports that there were 3 persons with two glasses with ale at Mrs Brightwells at the William and Mary on the Maids Causeway at 10 mints after 11 AM.

Monday 29th to Tuesday 30th May 1837 *
Beer House to Report
I found the beer shop “William & Mary” kept by Mrs Brightwell, Maids Causeway open at 1 o’clock A.M. and full of Company drinking and singing. Friday 2nd to Saturday 3rd June 1837

Saturday 12th to Sunday 13th August 1837 *
Beer House to report
At ¼ before 2am Mrs. Brightwell at the William and Mary was standing outside her door with 5 men who were drinking from quart pot.

Tuesday 26th to Wednesday 27th December 1837 *
Several persons were heard talking inside the William and Mary Beer House at ¼ to 1 am The Supert knocked at the door several times - at last they asked who was there - told them it was the Police. Mrs Brightwell said dam the Police they will not pay my rent and I shall not open the door - afterwards it was opened by Joshua Hammond who abused the Supert and he has no doubt but he would [have] assaulted him had he not left the premises where he was standing at the front of the house.
