Swan, Stone's Green, Great Oakley
It was trading as The Swan by the 1760's and retained the name until the last Landlord decided to make it into a French Restaurant (thus the horrible shutters!) sometime around the early 1990's when he called it The Green Swan. As far as I know, this lasted about a year before finally going out of business, whereupon he called it Green Swan Cottage. Finally, when he decided to sell up around 2000, he then called it Swan House. When I bought it, I reverted to The Swan, although Swan House still turns up on data-bases. **
