My grandmother, Maude Brooker, was born Jan 28, 1899 at The Alma, Galley Hill, Swanscombe. Her fathers name was "Walter Charles Brooker", and her Mother's name was Mary Ann Brooker - the certificate lists father's occupation as Beerhouse Keeper.  By 1901, the family is now running the Plough, Stonebridge Road, Northfleet, rather than his father in 1891. ***
