Blade Bone, 185 Bethnal Green Road, Bethnal Green E2

Bethnal Green pub history index

Historical London public houses, Taverns, Inns, Beer Houses and Hotels.

In 1805, there are two entries as noted in later  records. At 83 Church Street in 1869 & earlier. Named the Jolly Weavers in the Era transfer of licenses in 1865 and 1870. In the 1861 census, the Blade Bone is clearly listed as the Three Jolly Weavers at this same address.

It originally opened in 1823 (although records exist as far back as 1805), and was rebuilt after the second world war. It closed as a pub in 1999 and the premises are now in use as a restaurant (2006). ** Situated at the junction with Satchwell Road, east side, this pub was demolished in 2016 to make way for housing. ***
