1928/Henry Arthur Davis/Beer Retailer/../../../Tranfer Deeds *

On 14th August 1923, Henry Arthur Davis took over the “Royal Navy” (53 Salmons Lane) where they stayed until March 8th 1928.  I assume that they took over the “Lady Coborn” (740 Old Ford Road, Bow E3) in the same year but I do not have the transfer deed. I do however have them leaving the Lady Coburn on the 24th May 1934 and handing over to Mr Leonard Charles Tyler. *

They then moved to the “Duke of Edinburgh” 73 Devons Road, Bow E3 on 7th June 1934 where they stayed until the pub was demolished by a bomb during the war. Mary Esther Davis was a Taylor Walker Ladies Darts champion. The previous incumbent was a Mr Henry Charles Robson.  *
