I have been researching my family history for quite some time now and knew that William Worster was a publican but have just found his will dated 10 March 1827 in which he leaves two thousand pounds to his widow Susannah. They are at the Three Tuns, from at least 1823 until his death in 1827 his residence is in Red Cross Street (Victualler). *

I have been researching William Hersey. From 1814 to at least 1825 he was landlord of the Golden Anchor at 221 St John Street, Clerkenwell. ***
In 1828, he is a Wine & Spirit Dealer at 21 East street, Walworth. This is listed as the Bell in 1830.
By 1831 William HERSEY had became the proprietor of the Three Tuns at Cripplegate.
“On Tuesday morning, Mrs. Sarah Hersey, the beloved wife of Mr. William Hersey, of the Three Tuns, Redcross-street, Cripplegate, leaving a disconsolate husband, and four children, to lament her loss.” (Morning Advertiser, 13 July 1831)
At some point William HERSEY became landlord of the Blue Pig in St Mary Axe. He died there in 1839 leaving a will stating that his home and business was the Blue Pig.
