This pub was established in 1853. At Rose Gardens, Albion Road east in 1878 & 1881 census. In 1896 at Cardoss Street. The 1901 census shows the address as York Road. Sometime between 1921 and 1934 the address changes from Cardross Street to Aldensley Road **
