My grandfather was Teddy Baldock, the former World Bantamweight Champion 1927. Two years ago I published his life story "Teddy Baldock-The Pride of Poplar". During the research I read that he'd once ran the Earl of Derby, Forest Gate but handed it back to the Brewery when trade fell off during WW2. I wanted to try and find out the exact dates that he was in the pub (that is if I have the correct Earl of Derby).
Out of interest his parents ran the Ship Pub in Poplar High Street for almost 20 years from about 1931.
My website is at www.teddybaldock.co.uk
