Bow Street - Forged notes
Yesterday Brindley Goodluck was brought before George Hicks, esq. having been charged with having been concerned with Harriet Skelton and John Ward (fully committed on Wednesday last for trial) in passing divers false and counterfeit notes.
Mary Adams, servant to Mr Thomas Smith, of the Sun Tavern, 206 Fleet street, stated, she had known the prisoner a year and a half ; about five weeks, or a month since, he came to her masters house, accompanied by a female, and called for a glass of negus, and in payment tendered a 5 pound note, No 17,046, dated 4th August, 1817, which she (witness) took to her master to change, who gave her four 1 pound notes and the remainder in silver, which she gave to the prisoner.
Mr Thomas Smith confirmed the testimony .
Mr Milton, one of the inspectors, produced the note, and both the wutnesses swore to it, as being the same received from the prisoner; and Mr Milton proved it to be a forgery, in every particular.

The deceased was named Philip Parry Gent, for many years proprietor of two notorious brothels in Shire lane, and latterly proprietor of the Sun Tavern, 206 or 266 Fleet street.
