On April 29th,
1847, George Archer, a Licensed Victualler, of full age son of James Archer,
a butcher married Harriet Crane, spinster of full age at Hackney. Both show
their residence at the time as Dalston, Her father is William Crane, a
carpenter. By the 1851 census they are at the Bell Inn, North Mimms (or
North Mymms). The Bell Bar was on the Great North road. Apparently the Great
North road was diverted in 1833, and thus the pubs there dwindled and
closed.
