AKELEY-CUM-STOCKHOLT, a parish and township, situate2 1/2 miles NE of Buckingham, in the hundred and union of Buckingham, contained in 1861, 366 inhabitants. The church is a neat structure, dedicated to St. James the Apostle. The living is a rectory, in the gift of the Warden and Fellows of New College, Oxford, value about 180 per annum; the Rev. John Holford Risley, M.A., incumbent. There is a Sunday School and a small Dissenting Chapel. Area of the parish 1083 acres.
