Hope, 6 Ilford Lane, Ilford

Ilford pub history index

The Hope has a range of addresses through its lifetime, which all appear to be the same place, but this area of Ilford is always changing. The picture shows the Hope in Ilford lane, and this can be confirmed as William Butcher is a hairdresser at about 2 Ilford lane in 1901 and 1911 census. The later address I can find for the Hope is in 1901 and 1906 when it is at 6 Ilford lane; whilst the 1891 census lists it as the Hope Beer shop, Pavement

Hope, 6 Ilford Lane, Ilford - in about 1902

Hope, 6 Ilford Lane, Ilford - in about 1902

This would be looking away from the High street, down Ilford lane
