My parents were the licenses of The Rose & Crown Maldon Essex from 1959 until 1968 when they both retired. They took over from Mr Williams? who emigrated to Australia after being there for only just over 2 years taking over from Jim Rivers family in 1955/6. They had previously been at the Queens Head, Hemel Hempstead and the Plough, Radwinter ****
