King's Head, Pebmarsh
The central part of the building dates from 1450 and the timbers used in the construction then were from old sailing ships, some of which were said to date from the 12th century. There are rooms on the upper floor and an attic above. The attic was rented to poor shepherders who could sleep on the floor or, if they paid a little more, on ropes stretched between the beams.*
