This beer house dates back to the 1850’s when a Elizabeth Barnett was landlady, it called the Victoria Arm’s until the 1870’s whose address was 1 Northam Road and also at this address in 1881 census, the name change appears to have taken place in the 1870’s when a J Masters was landlord and also an Engine Driver, it became a Welsh’s Lion Brewery pub in July 1876 later being sold to Scrase’s Star Brewery for £500, subsequently becoming a Strong’s Romsey Brewery pub and in 1969 a Whitbread’s Brewery Pub, it closed in 1982 and became an office. *
