My maternal grandfather was later born here, in 1903, and that may explain how a few items of 'branded' cutlery and crockery have filtered down to me, from my mum. A relative also has a menu card from this pub. I gather the Websters occupancy of the Golden Lion was a big success and an enjoyable time for the family). *

Herts Advertiser 29 June 1907
Mr O J Websters Affairs
At St Aklbans Bankruptcy Court on Tuesday, the case of Oliver John Webster, late of the Golden Lion, LOndon Colney, and now of "Glenesk" in the same village, again came before Mr Registrar Hodding.
Requests for trading accounts and cash accounts were as follows: Total receipts to be £4240 8s, and expenditure £5, 495 19s. Case adjourned.

I understand that OJ was often away 'on business' and simply left a pub in the hands of his very capable wife Alice. I think he may have been landlord of more than one pub at a time (although not sure if that is possible), but, whatever, this is what I have been told by my mum. On the 1901 census OJ is not at the Golden Lion, but everyone else is. He is at The Duchess of Kent in Hackney, which you have correctly recorded on pubwiki, although he is incorrectly listed there as 'Widow'. The relevant column on the census sheet is rather squiggly, but OJ certainly was married to Alice and stayed so until his death in 1933. *

Unfortunately I do not have info on when the Websters moved into the Golden Lion, nor when they left. I understand that they left to occupy the King's Arms in Harefield, Middlesex and then the Fisheries Hotel by the Grand Union Canal in Harefield where they appear on the 1911 census. I am unclear if that is the correct order, and expect to clarify that when the 1921 census is published in January 2022.
In 1927 an Oliver Jonathan Webster, along with Alice and an Gilbert Arthur are recorded at the Kings Head, High street, Harefield, Hillingdon. Also listed there in 1930 with additional occupants.
Henry Webster is at the Red House, in Ware in 1939, and from at least 1914. Before this he is at the Salisbury Crest, Essendon, Hertfordshire
