The 1714 Will of Thomas Mackinder (National Archives PROB 11-598-205) states as follows:
"I give and devise unto my said beloved nephew William Mackinder all that my lease of the Adam and Eve and lands therein mentioned with my copper and grate and all other materials in and about the same as also my lease of my house in the Baile adjoining to the freehold messuage theretofore devised to him – respectively held of the Dean and Chapter of Lincoln for a term of years thereon respectively to come and expire Ernestly praying that the Dean and Chapter would be pleased that in regard the said house in the Bail is much out of repair and will cost a great deal of money to repair it to grant that upon the renewal of the Adam and Eve lease it may be joined in the same lease they being both ??? and the out rents being both due at one and the same time. *
