I have been researching William Hersey. From 1814 to at least 1825 he was landlord of the Golden Anchor at 221 St John Street, Clerkenwell. ***
By 1831 William HERSEY had became the proprietor of the Three Tuns at Cripplegate.
At some point William HERSEY became landlord of the Blue Pig in St Mary Axe. He died here in 1839 leaving a will stating that his home and business was the Blue Pig.
His widow Elizabeth continued to run the pub until she remarried in 1842, whereupon her new husband Frank BUTCHER became the licensee.
