Thursday 11 August 2022 - Stonegate Media:

The ever-popular Queen Victoria in Bermondsey has seen a new face behind the bar this summer, as the pub enjoys a busy start to the summer holidays.
The traditional pub located on Southwark Park Road is said to have been the inspiration behind The Queen Vic on Eastender’s Albert Square and has seen many of its cast pop in for a pint over the years, with it’s striking resemblance to the BBC hit drama’s local meeting point.
The pub’s new Operator Sophie, started running the pub in mid-June and comes with a wealth of experience spending the past 14 years working within the Hospitality industry. Starting as a member of the bar team she rapidly worked her way up within pubs and bars based in Greenwich and Tottenham to now steer the ship at The Queen Victoria. The Eltham-born pub operator has lived in Bermondsey for the past three years and has already got to know the local people and area well.
Speaking on the becoming the new Operator at The Queen Victoria, Sophie Bardrick said: “It’s an honour to take over the role of running this iconic venue. It’s only been a couple of months but I’ve already been made to feel so welcome by the pub’s guests, it’s a great community feel we have here and I’m excited for what the future has to offer. If you live in the local area and haven’t been into the pub recently I’d love to meet you and get to know you. We’ve got a great offering of drinks behind the bar and a friendly team on hand to make sure that you have a great time with us at The Queen Victoria.”
The pub is open Monday to Saturday from 11am and 12pm on Sunday’s, so it’s the perfect venue to pop in and have a refreshing drink this summer. The bar stocks quality beers, wines and spirits with well-known local, national and international names. The drinks menu also features a good choice of interesting low and no-alcohol drinks too.
The Queen Victoria in Bermondsey is part of the award-winning Craft Union Pub Company, who were named the Best Community Operator at the 2022 Publican Awards.
