London historical street directory and pub history

Most of the properties on my site are now probably listed on rightmove as residential property rather than pubs, perhaps they would like to sponsor this site?

Blade Bone, 185 Bethnal Green Road, Bethnal Green

Bethnal Green pub history index

A listing of historical public houses, Taverns, Inns, Beer Houses and Hotels in Bethnal Green, Middlesex - now in East London. The Bethnal Green, East London listing uses information from census, Trade Directories and History to add licensees, bar staff, Lodgers and Visitors.

In 1805, there are two entries as noted in later  records. At 83 Church Street in 1869 & earlier. Named the Jolly Weavers in the Era transfer of licenses in 1865 and 1870. In the 1861 census, the Blade Bone is clearly listed as the Three Jolly Weavers at this same address.

It originally opened in 1823, and was rebuilt after the second world war. It closed as a pub in 1999 and the premises are now in use as a restaurant (2006). ** Situated at the junction with Satchwell Road, east side, this pub was demolished in 2016 to make way for housing. ***
