My grandparents / great grandparents had a number of pubs in south London. The first being The Ship in Distress, Bermondsey , followed by the Duke of Cambridge. Both sites being demolished some time back for Housing Schemes.
It was quite shocking when my Grandparents (Webber / Pick) were given only a few weeks notice by the brewery to vacate before the pub and in fact the areas was demolished to make way for a new housing estate. This was circa 1975 I think. What a mistake. **
