This pub was built in 1851. At 7 Oxford Terrace, Kings Road in 1856;
the address in the 1865 license transfer is the Stanley Tavern, Limerston street, this is at the junction with Kings Road at this point.
In 1971 it was renamed the Magpie & Stump, taking the name of a long-demolished
pub in Cheyne Walk. It has recently closed and been converted to a
restaurant (2007). **
