The Era 27/3/1870, at a licensing meeting in Kensington. :
William Parr of the Duke of Edinburgh, Blythe Lane, Hammersmith, applied for a licence, when Mr Good, the butcher, again opposed. The licensed was granted, the announcement of which was received with great applause. The applicant had employed counsel, who had left for a short time, but he preferred advocating his own case to waiting for him. The applicant then asked for a name change to the Old Parr's Head, which was granted amidst considerable merriment. *
