Hammersmith pub history Index
Closed around the mid/late-1950s, this pub had been a car showroom before being resurrected as a pub by Wetherspoon's in October, 2002. This pub's address is now 122-124 King Street. * The Plough and Harrow. The name dates back to 1419. The pub was rebuilt in 1903 on a much grander scale and in 1960 in closed and became a car showroom. In 2002 it was demolished but due to local protest the old facade was kept and installed on the replacement building

What I am now attempting to achieve is the coverage of an earlier London
street directory in 1832. This is unique, plus
images of the 1842 Robsons directory which confirm earlier entries and also
carry much more trade detail about a premises or person. Here is the index of streets in 1832, many with
1842 imagery added.
And next is the complete 1940 London street directory - this will take some months to complete, so bear with me!
