I have found my husband's great great great grandfather Joseph Perkins listed as Publican at the Prince of Wales, Princes Square, Kennington in 1826. He seems to have been there from c1824 to1839. His wife Sarah seems to have still been there for a while after his death in 1841. ***

In January 1849, there is a baptism of a James William Codrington to James and Mary Codrington in Southwark, where father is described as a licensed victualler, and an address of Collingwood street. There appears to be a birth date of 29th January 1840.
The 1841 census lists him as a beer house keeper at 18 Albion terrace, in Clapham.
By the 1851 census, an eleven year old James Codrington is living at the licensed victuallers school.
