This pub was present by 1800 and was extensively re-built in 1876. It was demolished in 1987 or 1988 in a road-widening scheme. From about 1982 it had been called the Buccaneer.  **

Charlie Brown junior moved on to Woodford in 1938, where his next pub became known as Charlie Brown's, a name still in use today as Charlie Brown's Roundabout was named after the pub which used to stand on the site. **
