This address in 1825 is Halifax Head, Dunk street and the 1849 and 1852 license transfers is the Halifax, Dunk street, and in 1856 and 1875 is listed as the Halifax Head. Listed as 3 Princes Street in 1871 census, but the license transfers still refer to Dunk Street. In 1906, there is a Three Crowns at 93 Old Montague street, this is at the junction with 1 Dunk street, and clearly the same public house.

What I am now attempting to achieve is the coverage of an earlier London
street directory in 1832. This is unique, plus
images of the 1842 Robsons directory which confirm earlier entries and also
carry much more trade detail about a premises or person. Here is the index of streets in 1832, many with
1842 imagery added.
And next is the complete 1940 London street directory - this will take some months to complete, so bear with me!
