This pub was established by 1745 and was originally called the Red Lion. It was renamed the Old Commodore in 1844. It was demolished in 1934 or 1935 for the construction of Commodore House; At 183 Poplar High Street before 1871 and renumbering ** The 1862 license transfer refers to it still as the Red Lion, High street
