In 1938, a Christopher P Ryan marries an Evelyn Daly in Willesden. If they
are correct, he is born on 3rd July 1914, and Evelyn on 27th September 1912.
The 1939 census lists him as a private chauffeur, living in Willesden.
My grandfather and grandmother ran the
Tavistock Hotel in Nottinghill. They
actually moved from the Marlborough Head in Drury Lane to the Tavistock;
(it was from about 1937 to after the war). They then went on to run a pub in
Chelsea (Moore Arms). *
