The Mark Lane Station Buildings, Byward Street at the corner of Seething Lane in 1911.
The ground floor opened in 1909 as Mark Lane Station on the Circle & District Lines. The rest of the building opened in 1911 as the London headquarters of Dutch Margerine company Van den Bergh, who in 1929 became part of Unilever. *
Mark Lane Station was renamed Tower Hill in 1947, but was too small to handle post war visitors to the Tower and was closed in 1967 when the current Tower Hill Station was built.
