In the 1901 census William Henry Freeman (of Woodstock) was the Licensed Victualler at "The Sun" in Begbroke. He is also shown at "The Sun" P.H. in the 1907 Begbroke directory. His 1914 Reserve Army Record shows him as an Innkeeper at the Adam & Eve Inn Woodstock. In 1926 he is listed as a Publican at his daughter Norah's wedding. *

William ran the Adam & Eve Inn from 1912 until his death in 1934. His wife then three of his various children (William George, Kathleen Scroggs and then Florence) ran it after that. (Source: PubWiki) *

In the 1911 Begbroke census William Golder is listed as the Inn Keeper. The census document shows it as both “The Sun” and “The Royal Sun” (The Royal Sun is its current name). Name change must have occurred around 1911.
