HORNTON is a parish and village, in the Banbury union and Bloxham hundred, 5 1/2 miles N.W. from Banbury, and 28 1/2 miles N.W. from Oxford, on the borders of Warwickshire. The church is an ancient structure dedicated to St. John the Baptist. The living is annexed to the vicarage of Horley. There is a National School supported by subscription and the children's pence; the average number of scholars attending, boys and girls, is 50. The parish contained in 1861, 514 persons.
