My grandparents Thomas & Sheila Gilroy (nee St Leger) took over the Kings Head at Merton from Harry Joseph in 1952 until 1964; Previous to this Thomas & Sheila Gilroy were at The Prince of Orange in Plumstead between 1944 and 52; and before this, Thomas Gilroy owned the Southampton Arms, at 21 Nine Elms with his sister Vera Gilroy **
